Heavier rainfall creates lush forest scenery and fewer visitors. Trails may become muddy, slippery and more physically challenging.
JUN–SEP
Peak Trekking Season
Drier conditions usually provide more manageable trekking trails. Gorilla permits should be arranged early during this popular travel period.
OCT–NOV
Short Rainy Season
Regular showers refresh the forest and maintain its rich green scenery. Trekking remains possible, although trails may be wet and slippery.
